 Partnerships

Ohana Chem Co. is proud to have partnered with Marquis Energy since 2021 as their exclusive representative of CDA products. Along with being the country's largest dry grain ethanol plant, Marquis is focused on becoming the first carbon-neutral industrial complex. Ohana is excited to be so closely aligned with a plant that is prioritizing sustainability and to continue providing the hemp marketplace with the highest quality solvents.

“The Ohana team has done a great job representing our ethanol in the hemp industry. What started as a few tanker loads has turned into an exclusive relationship due to Ohana’s expertise and focus on growing customer relationships in the CDA 12A market.” - Devin Sloma, Technical Account Manager at Marquis

Logistics

Carbon & Sustainability

Marquis is committed to sustainability and has audited farming production and transportation of ethanol since 2011. As the world works together toward carbon neutrality, Marquis launched the Marquis Carbon Sequestration Project which is centered around a process called BECCS. Today 88% of the embedded carbon in chemicals comes from petroleum-based feedstocks. To truly achieve a de-fossilized economy, the demand must be met by renewable carbon sources. Marquis produces 350 million gallons per year of renewable bioethanol and 50 million gallons of industrial grade/USP alcohol. In 2024, Marquis will capture and sequester 1.2 million tons of 99% pure fermentation carbon dioxide from the ethanol production process. This ethanol will have a third-party certified Carbon Intensity (CI) score of less than 15 in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) modeling, an 84% reduction from petroleum-based products. Some of our gallons, made from the most sustainable feedstocks, will be net negative. As a leader in innovation, in 2025, Marquis will be producing ethanol from CO2, creating a further net negative commodity.
